Smartphone review Xiaomi Redmi Note 5.
In my review of Redmi 5 Plus, I initially wrote that this model will also be known as Redmi Note 5, it turned out that these are still two different devices, so I apologize to our readers for my mistake.
In terms of positioning, the Redmi Note 5 Bluetooth Earphones-manual.pdf sits above the Redmi 5 Plus: the model has a dual camera and https://cdn-103.anonfiles.com/jdK9K8pcve/bb58db1a-1639040752/Aquariums-manual.pdf uses a more recent chipset. Xiaomi charges an extra four thousand rubles for this. In fact, it turns out that Redmi Note 5 is an offer for those who lack the technical characteristics of the Redmi 5 Plus, but are willing to pay extra for a better camera. Well, let’s see if the improvements to our co-pay are worth it or not.
Design, dimensions, controls.
Let’s call a spade a spade: the back of this model resembles the body of the iPhone X, and I personally don’t like that. If I want to buy an iPhone X, I will, I doubt that anyone has a desire to purchase a copy of this model by design, and not the original.
The back cover material is brushed aluminum, my black version was tactilely reminiscent of the same iPhone 7, however, I don’t think Xiaomi decided to copy Apple here either, many companies use this material: it is practical and pleasant to the touch. However, the black version was still a bit of a brand name, fingerprints are visible on it, however, they are not as noticeable as on glossy cases. There is also a fingerprint scanner and a dual camera. The scanner is fast and accurate, no complaints about it.
The device will be sold in three colors: gold, blue and black, the latter is just on our test. Personally, I really liked the blue version, now there is a trend towards glossy blue glass cases, against their background the blue aluminum case looks beautiful and unusual.
The top and bottom of the back cover are made of plastic, the transition is very smooth, if you run your finger along the junction of aluminum and plastic, then your finger will not get stuck on this seam.
Above the screen are the front camera, light and proximity sensors, an indicator light and a mesh of the earpiece. There is nothing under the display, this model uses on-screen buttons.
On the bottom edge there is a microUSB port, a mesh of an external speaker, a mini-jack for headphones and a microphone hole. The second microphone and infrared port can be seen from above.
On the left side, a power button and a volume rocker were installed, and on the right, a tray for two nanoSIM or nanoSIM microSD, a hybrid slot.
After Redmi 5 Plus, this model seemed to me thick and heavy, but I decided to compare their dimensions so as not to be unfounded.
Height (mm) Width (mm) Thickness (mm) Weight (gram) Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 158.6 75.4 8.05 181 Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 151 76 8.4 175 Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus 158.5 75.5 8.05 180 Huawei Nova 2i 156.2 75.2 7.5 164.
And I was surprised to find that the models are about the same in all respects, although I remember well that Redmi 5 Plus was definitely thinner. These are the memory traps. The smartphone lies well in the hand, although it still seems heavy and thick, in my opinion.
